Since the birth of Ilana’s first child in 2018, she has gone back to her first love of painting and finding ways to express emotion without the need to use words.

It is with this in mind that her style has leaned into that of Abstract Expressionism. In a world of chaos and mess, there is still wonder and beauty to be found in all the little details. All it takes is the eyes to see it. To inspect it closely.

Her work is constantly created around these themes, where you are invited to inspect each painting closely, as there is a world of depth and mystery to be found hiding in the layers.

Abundant Hope

Hope is a funny thing. When the soul is dry and weary it is hard to see anything but the sandy and cracked plains. You may not even realise she’s there, but the more that you keep going out to look, eventually you will spot the “cloud as large as a man’s fist” that is the first sign of rain.
